Dan Dean
, Founder and Executive Director

DanDan is a 13-year survivor of stage IV non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Recognizing that few resources exist geared specifically toward men affected by cancer, Dan founded M Powerment to bring men of all ages together to lead amazing, impactful lives after a cancer diagnosis. A lifelong Cleveland sports fan, Dan also plays basketball, kayaks, hikes, and likes to go trail running.

 

 

Marissa Gilbert, Chief Happiness Officer

DanMarissa Friedman Gilbert is a synovial sarcoma survivor and proud recipient of a 2014 Courage Award from the Sarcoma Foundation of America. Believing that people should and can be their happiest selves at work, she supports the M Powerment community of survivors and staff and MP’s overall organizational development and strategic vision. Marissa lives in Northern VA with her very tall husband and very precocious mini-labradoodle. She is a lifelong fan of cheering on underdog sports teams, tennis, and running half marathons.

 


Andy Dohanos

AndyDr. Andy Dohanos is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences at Baldwin Wallace University where he teaches courses in interpersonal communication, public speaking, and communication theory and research. Dr. Dohanos has researched the communication processes and patterns associated with emotion expression, coaching, and dismissal in the context of family therapy. Away from the University, Dr. Dohanos enjoys spending time with his wife Abby and son William, running with his dog Riley, and coaching high school cross country.

 

Corey Wright, Webmaster and Jack of all Trades

CoreyFrom a young age, Corey has always had a passion for the great outdoors and music. Corey enjoys expressing his creativity through photography and music, and has been doing photography for 15 years, and playing guitar even longer. He holds a dual degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Case Western Reserve University as well as a Master of Engineering and Management degree from Case’s Weatherhead School of Management. When not spending time relaxing, Corey keeps busy as Founder & CEO of Technically Wright Consulting where he works with local residents and small businesses to find creative technology solutions.
